Is there an issue creating instruments in a first generation iPod?

Post by bflat »

I created a zipped file containing audio multi samplings of muted trumpet scalar notes. After modifying each sample per instructions in the "Creating Instruments" section of the Thumbjam Users' Guide, I am able to upload the samples and successfully create a muted pocket trumpet instrument on my iPad1.

Sadly, no such luck with my first generation iPod Touch, which I use primarily as a soloing instrument. (-: I can upload the zipped WAV samples to the iPod via WIFI and I can display and play them individually via my Macbook Pro HTTP connection. However, when I attempt to import the samples and create an instrument in the IPod, no sound is produced after the initial instrument file is created and displayed. This may be due to the iPod's 1st generation hardware and software being incompatible with this procedure, although the Thumbjam App's other functions appear to work as advertised.

Thanks in advance from this first timer.
