I tried connecting the iphone with Thumbjam to the Macbook with MacOSX 10.6.4 via headphone style jack on each end of wire to audio input jac. I changed the sound in main preferences to line in, built in input. But no sound comes out in Garageband. How does this work?

You need to turn on monitoring on the track in Garageband. It is the button that looks like headphones. I also recommend in the audio preferences to set the buffer sizes to small (for minimum delay).

I have don this and still no sound comes out in garageband. Could you go over with me what I would need to do starting at the beginning. What settings need to happen in Prefs on computer and GB.
