Using ThumbJam as a Live MIDI Controller

Hi, I'm a noob and I need help. I have emailed support but have not got a reply yet so I figured I should ask on the forum. Sorry in advance for my silly question.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to connect ThumbJam on my iPad to my PC and use it as a MIDI controller for a DAW like LMMS? I turned on "enable network connection" under MIDI options and made sure my PC and iPad are both on the same wifi network, but nothing is happening. My computer does not recognise that there is a MIDI device present at all. How do I make my computer connect to ThumbJam?

Thanks so much,

Bud

OK, to get MIDI from TJ to windows with a wired solution (always the best in terms of latency, etc) you will need some additional hardware. Various products from iConnectivity will work, such as the mio2 or iconnectmidi2 (or any of the bigger ones):
https://www.iconnectivity.com/midi-interfaces-1/
Those devices allow you connect your computer and the iOS device (either directly with the iConnect* products, or with the lightning-to-USB camera connection kit in the case of the mio* products) simultaneously. If you have other hardware MIDI controllers in your setup these products become even more useful.

If you want to avoid spending more money (even though it's probably worth it!) you can try using the rtpMIDI software:

Setup instructions are linked from that page...
