Ipod 4G (4.3.1) Crash when scrolling instrument list during playback

Post by grb »

Quite often, after a few loops are recorded I go into the instrument list, start scrolling down the list and the screen goes blank and drops back to the device home screen. I'm afraid I've no more specific detail, but it seems most likely to crash when I've forgotten to Save my progress, losing the current set of loops...

Is there any way to recover these loops, are they written to the file system, or reside only in memory?

EDIT: I can reproduce it by loading in an existing loop set, starting playback and scrolling up and down the instrument list. Seems most likely to crash in the 'Categories' listing mode.

Thanks for this report, I have seen this behavior before as well in the category view.

To recover your loops you should be able to get them using the wifi transfer, add /LoopSets/ to the end of the URL and you will see a bunch of directories, try looking in the Defaults folder and download the numeric wav files to see if they are there.

Jesse, There are a few

Jesse,

There are a few directories, some of which do contain the meta files and sounds, some don't...

Is this because of starting out with the timestamp based filename for a loopset and subsequently saving it under a different name might leave the recorded loops in the previously named folder? (I'm pretty sure when tidying up some older sessions I then lost loops used elsewhere).

I do find that when TJ is resumed from the home screen it seems to return to the 'Default' file name when saving, rather than the timestamp based name offered when first saving a session.

Hope that makes some sense ?
