Now that I've been working
<t>Now that I've been working with these apps a while, I have basically dropped Looptastic Producer for my daily work. It's GREAT for whipping up a beat, but it's more performance oriented. BeatMaker is more oriented toward the precision needed to deliver final output, and that's no small claim.<br/...

I think Thumbjam represents a
<t>I think Thumbjam represents a major breakthough in music- not just for jamming on an iphone, but for music in general. TJ closes the gap between the musician and the music. With the same skill set, you can play a great sax, cello, or any of dozens of other instruments. It's truly amazing! Your li...

BeatMaker is capable of doing
<t>BeatMaker is capable of doing this. It gives you total control over your tracks and lets you do a song with changes like this. The learning curve is not trivial, and there's a stark contrast between the speed at which you can whip out a ThumbJam and the methodical pace at which you put together a...

ZF: re your "anyone else
<t>ZF: re your "anyone else here doing this?" the answer is yes. I'm working on this as well. The combination of ThumbJam, BeatMaker and LoopTastic makes the iphone THE cutting edge musical instrument. By the way, had the pleasure of shaking Frank Zappa's hand years ago after a concert in Tampa. He ...

You should look at SSW
You should look at SSW (simple song writer) for the iphone. It's excellent for this, will definitely stimulate your thinking. It makes it easy to develop chord progressions which sound great. Tremendous for beginners, but even expert musicians can use it for song ideas.

<t>Answered my own question. It turns out the Wi-Fi Transfer feature works great in both ThumbJam and Looptastic.<br/> <br/> So:<br/> 1- create a loop in LoopTastic<br/> 2- go to More Menu, turn on Wi-Fi Transfer (you need a PC with wifi)<br/> 3- export the loop to your pc<br/> 4- go to thumbjam, pr...

Hi Sluz, I purchased
<t>Hi Sluz,<br/> <br/> I purchased Looptastic Producer for the iPhone after your suggestion. First, I should say it definitely is compatible with ThumbJam (TJ). You can audio paste from thumbjam into a Looptastic Producer (LP). LP gives you 3 zones: left, middle and right. There's a slider to determ...

Sequencing loops
<t>Jesse,<br/> <br/> Unbelievably great iPhone app! Congratulations!<br/> <br/> I may have missed this, but I decided to do a cover of Billie Jean just to test the limits of TJ. I did a nice six part loop in about 20 minutes, sounded great. Runs great, but then the big chord change. At that point I'...

I'm a software developer, and I like to dabble in music. I just want to say ThumbJam is my favorite iPhone app- no exceptions.
