Similar app for desktop?

Post by leomf »

Hello,

I've been in love with the ease of composing in ThumbJam app, I really like the fact that it would let me pick a scale and take it from there. I'm a bit of a newbie but was wondering if there's any similar app for computer.

Any tip?

Thanks a lot!

Seems imitating Thumbjam on another platform would not be the best use of 'Jesse time'. The wheel should keep spinning, not being recreated. Anyway, if I am not wrong, special electro-stactic like sensitivity of the IPad/IPhone screen is very important to what makes it wonderful.

Imagine what a table with maybe 8 synced IPad Thumbjams and maybe a couple as foot pedels could produce with some substantial practice.

Well said Steve :)

Seriously though, what aspects of TJ are you wanting in a desktop app? The instruments (for midi control)? The scales?

All of it! TJ as a VST or AU that you could use directly in Logic, Ableton, Cubase, Reaper...
That'd be a hit, well IMO :)

Well I must admit that I don't see the point of having TJ on a desktop.
There is already tons of very good sounding VSTs and AUs multisample instruments available for DAWs.

What would TJ do better than those?

I've been looking around and haven't found a VST doing what TJ does,
can you be more specific?

edit: in this case, I'm not interested in the instruments, I know there are a lot of other ways to find instruments in a DAW.
It's more about scales, for exemple you've got a scale plugins in Live, but far to be as good as TJ,
also you can't use a pad to create solos...

Ok, so you're looking for a Scale VST/AU plug-in... And then you'll play with, whatever controller you have.

something like 7Aliens W2 Harmonizer.
