Is there a way to keep notes on by default?

I find it much easier to use when notes are on display but it always reverts back to off when the app crashes or shuts down. I played with this for 3 hours last night and it's an amazing app! I know there are space limitations but it would be great if the width of keys could be increased on piano as it requires very precise touch to hit select notes properly.

Yes, the next release will restore your note display preferences (as well as others).
If you want more note space you can always reduce the octave span from the Sound->Change Key popout. You can leave that up and then move up and down the scale with the Root Octave control. Future versions will have those controls more readily available as a smaller performance sidebar.
