A way to reset the loop to the beginning?

Post by raketemensch »

Perhaps this is already in there, and I'm just too dense to find it....

When recording loops, I'll often end up with a very long loop. I'll start recording the next "layer," flub it, and want to try again, but since I can't reset the loop to the beginning (or 4 beats from the end), I have to sit and wait for the beginning to come around.

(Cue Arlo Guthrie, waiting for it to come around on the guitar)

You're not missing it, the feature isn't there yet :( There are a couple ways it could be done... I like your idea of a reset 4 beats from the end (for long loops). Perhaps a single command available while looping (Cancel-and-Rerecord) which would cancel that loop and jump the loop to either the beginning (for short loops) or 4 beats from the end for longer ones, then start recording immediately. The current beta version has a reset-to-beginning button in the Loop Mixer screen, which could also help.
