By adding a similar button on the Key Controls slide out that shows the keys, what if you made another one that let you customize or play an entire chord with one button. You could even create popular progressions by default or allow users to program in their own chords. This could overlae the screen the same way the key change slider does, but could be bigger and have more. You could even play a solo to the right side while holding a chord on the left side with one finger.

Sure if you had some sampled chords already played (and in fact I will be releasing some acoustic guitar chord samples soon) you can create a new instrument and choose the One-Shot style to get the drum-pad layout. Right now the order you add samples to the instrument determines the pad layout.
