Notes names visibility

Post by matimaui »

i play chords with my right hand and i like having the lower notes on the left like pianos do. i would like to have the notes names be black or turn black when the notes are being touched and on the opposite side please.

On this topic, if it weren't

On this topic, if it weren't an overly incredible hassle to add...(which btw, I do programming and understand even the simplest things can sometimes take forever)

It would be pretty awesome to have the sharps a darker color like a piano for visual reference- BUT ONLY for the full chromatic scale of course- for other scales I think it would just be confusing rather than helpful.

Maybe the easiest way to do this would be to overlay a color or shade for sharp notes, when the note names are turned on? Or perhaps just the color of the text label showing the note name could be black instead of white?

If that's not do-able, at least the note names can be still be turned on...it's just not as easy to visually pick out when playing chromatically.

The continuum fingerboard made me think of this today:

Interesting. What I have

Interesting. What I have done already (coming up) is to color code the roots with red, 4ths with blue , and the 5ths with green. This gives a nice reference point and yields interesting unique patterns for every scale. I might consider a special color coding for chromatic, as you suggested.

Check out this screen shot of the (upcoming really soon) next version:

It also shows off the new sidebar and the name of one of Jordan Rudess's new instruments.

Cool, I hadn't thought of

Cool, I hadn't thought of that! Lookin' good, can't wait for the next release. I'm going to mount an iPod holder to my guitar so that feature will be handy for keeping track where I am at visually from a distance.

Dunlop actually makes a product specifically for mounting iPod Touch/iPhone to a guitar, but I had doubts that it would actually hold well to my particular guitar:

I decided to go the cheaper/home-made route and do something similar to what this guy did:
